Chenies And Latimer Cricket Club

Chenies and Latimer Cricket Club is a thriving club located in Buckinghamshire with direct 45-minute train links to London. Chenies have 3 Saturday league teams playing in the Thames Valley Cricket League, one (men’s) Sunday team playing friendly cricket, an occasional T20 side and one women’s league team playing in the Home Counties Women’s Cricket League. Chenies also has a thriving colts’ section for both boys and girls, from under 5 to under 18 with county champions in many age groups feeding a perfect pathway into adult cricket.
Chenies and Latimer has a fantastic ground with a pavilion and bar and top-class strip. We have three nets, a top of the range bowling machine and for those wanting extra sessions, access to one-to-one coaching.
We are looking for players of all abilities to join our club and would additionally value a self-financing overseas player/coach on a youth visa or equivalent to play in our first team.
Our 1st XI play in Thames Valley League Division 4 and is on an upward trajectory being promoted twice since 2019 and can accommodate players to bolster the squad and push for another promotion in the coming season.
The second & third XIs play in Divisions 9 & 10 and need players to help develop the overall strength and depth of the club, to both support the ambitions we have for the 1st XI and importantly achieve promotions for the 2nd and 3rd XIs. We also aim to launch a 4th XI within the next 3 years.
We welcome young players who want an introduction into adult cricket and a pathway into 1st XI cricket. Many of our current 1st XI players made their way from the colts and through the 3rd and 2nd XI teams.
The Women’s league team was launched in 2022 and immediately won promotion from division 3 of the Home Counties Women’s Cricket League and achieved a third-place finish in division 2 last season. Our girls (U11-U18s) teams are achieving great success in the various age levels. We are aiming to launch a women’s 2nd XI in 2025 and for 2024 have entered the league’s Super 8s competition. We are therefore looking to recruit new Women & Girls, both experienced players and those just keen to come along to see what cricket is all about. We run weekly softball sessions by way of a fun and social introduction to cricket.
For overseas candidates we can help find a job and accommodation if required. It would also be good if you can assist with coaching in our thriving colts’ section.
