About Coomoora Cricket Club
Based in Springvale South, Coomoora Cricket Club has been a proud and competitive club since its establishment in 1975. Now, 50 years on, we are entering one of the most exciting phases in our history.
Our past is built on strong success, including sustained periods in Turf 1 throughout the 1990s and 2000s. More recently, after a rebuilding phase over the last six years, we’ve surged back into the top grade…Winning a Turf 3 premiership three years ago, followed by a Turf 2 premiership this past season. We now return to Turf 1 with momentum, belief and a clear purpose, to compete, not just participate.
We currently field four senior sides. Turf 1, Turf 5, and two synthetic grades and we’re proud to have had all four teams playing finals last season, securing two premierships. With a strong list of over 60 committed players and plans to expand further, including the potential addition of a third turf side, our trajectory is firmly upward.
But what truly defines Coomoora is not just results, it’s our culture. We are an extremely tight-knit, united club where connection across all grades is non-negotiable. From senior players to developing cricketers, everyone is valued and integrated. Unity is our strength. We pride ourselves on being a club where players support one another, push each other, and genuinely enjoy each other’s success, on and off the field. Our social environment is a huge part of who we are and we look for people who embrace that fully.
Competitively, we are driven and ambitious. Our aim in Turf 1 is not to make up the numbers. We want to challenge the established powerhouses and make an immediate impact. Few teams rise into Turf 1 and contend straight away. We intend to be one of them. That mindset underpins everything we do, from recruitment to preparation.
Off the field, we continue to invest in the future of the club. Growing our junior and women’s programs is a key priority and while it has presented challenges, we are actively working with local schools and community groups to build sustainable pathways. The right leadership and support in this space will be critical.
As a club, we operate without major financial backing. Instead, we rely on the strength of our community. Our members, past players, sponsors and social events. It fosters a sense of ownership, pride and authenticity that money simply can’t buy.
