The Maiden Gully Cricket Club was established from humble beginnings joining the Emu Valley Cricket Association (EVCA) in 1977. Club members & local residents combined to clear the ground of rocks & scrub to create what is now known as the Maiden Gully Recreation Reserve. Members spent many hours mowing the ground, at times with a team of push mowers.
The club rooms were a tin shed with many a cold ale, great tale or tall story enjoyed in that shed. Maiden Gully tasted some success in its inaugural year with Paul Davey taking out the EVCA top batting award.
During the 1980’s Maiden Gully CC continued showing the calibre of player talent it had with players picking up the EVCA’s top awards. Along came the 1990’s and Maiden Gully CC celebrated its first Division 1 Premiership in the 1990/91 season.
Over the years the club has won a total of 5 Division 1 Premierships, 4 Division 2 Premierships and 3 Division 3 Premierships, with the most recent being in Season 2018/19.
