Northop CC is a well-established club over 150+ years old and situated 10 miles inside North Wales just over the Cheshire border in North West England.
We play our League games in the North Wales Premier having gained promotion last season as Champions. The Club is very proud of its strong links with the surrounding area and our junior system is one that is and has been continually successful for over 20 years.
We operate 4 Senior and 5 Junior teams and over 80% of our players came through our junior system and we have a girl’s junior team also being formed currently. We are quite simply the best supported cricket team in north Wales bar none. Our home games especially 1st team ones, are seen as a chance for the local area to meet up watch their sons and friends play and most importantly socialise and have a drink in beautiful surroundings whilst doing so. Our dynamic and financially astute Committee have every intention of winning the Premier League and this will be the 2nd year of a 5-year plan to achieve that goal.
We strongly believe in allowing all our players the opportunity to develop within our club and all Coaches, Captains and Policies are designed to enable this. We pay all our students expenses to come home during University time no matter which team they play for. This ensures our youthful teams are strong, (our 2nd XI won the NWCL Premier league in 2017, our 3rds in 2016) to play in all parts of the season not just during the Summer months.
Our commitment to our Club Development has led us to looking into acquiring a paid player for the coming season.
Our location within North Wales is a perfect place for any visitor to access the delights on offer with the sea coast 20 minutes away, Snowdonia less than 1 hour away but being only 20 minutes from Chester, 30 minutes from Liverpool, 45 minutes from Manchester airport or a 2.5-hour train journey to London.
Needless to say, this is a superb opportunity to come and enjoy a season of cricket in a beautiful setting playing in the highest-ranking league in North Wales and being part of a community / village that will make you feel welcome, whilst being able to take advantage of the opportunities that this great location affords an overseas visitor wanting to see more of North Wales and England and make some friends for life !
